1. Who We Are

Next Gen Learning UK ("we", "us", "our") is an educational platform for 11+ exam preparation. Our registered contact is: support@nextgenlearninguk.com.

This service is designed exclusively for children aged 7–11 (Years 3–6), with accounts created and managed by parents or legal guardians. Children do not create accounts — only parents/guardians register and hold accounts.

2. Data We Collect

Parent / Guardian Data

Email address and name (account registration)
Payment information (processed securely by Stripe — we never see card details)
Referral code (if applicable)

Child Profile Data

Child's chosen game username only (no real names collected)
Year group
Avatar configuration (no real photos)
Learning session data (scores, time spent, questions answered)
In-app progress metrics (streaks, badges, points)

✅ We do NOT collect: child surnames, dates of birth, photos, location data, or any social media data.

3. Why We Process Data (Legal Basis)

Contract:To provide the subscription service you purchased and manage your account.

Consent:To process your child's learning data for adaptive educational purposes (given during onboarding — withdrawable at any time).

Legitimate interest:To improve the platform, monitor for fraud, and ensure platform security.

Legal obligation:To comply with tax and financial record-keeping requirements.

4. Children's Privacy (UK GDPR Article 8)

This platform processes data relating to children under 13. We take extra steps to protect this data:

All accounts are held by adults (parents/guardians only)
We collect the minimum necessary child data for the educational service
Child data is never shared with third parties for marketing purposes
Child learning data is never sold
We do not show advertising to children
A parent PIN lock protects all reporting and account management features

By creating a child profile, parents confirm they are the legal guardian and consent to the educational use of learning data.

5. Data Sharing

We only share data with trusted service providers necessary to operate the platform:

Stripe — payment processing (PCI DSS compliant)
Base44 — infrastructure and database hosting (EU-region servers)
AI providers — used to generate question content (no personal data is sent to AI models)

We do not sell, rent, or share personal data with advertisers, data brokers, or any third party for commercial gain.

6. Data Retention

Active account data is retained while your subscription is active
After account deletion, all personal data is removed within 30 days
Payment records are retained for 7 years as required by UK tax law (Stripe holds these)
Anonymous, aggregated learning analytics may be retained indefinitely

7. Your Rights Under UK GDPR

You have the right to:

Access — request a copy of all data we hold about you and your child
Rectification — correct inaccurate data
Erasure — request deletion of your account and all associated data ("right to be forgotten")
Portability — receive your data in a machine-readable format
Object — object to processing based on legitimate interests
Withdraw consent — for consent-based processing (child learning data)

To exercise any of these rights, email us at support@nextgenlearninguk.com with the subject "GDPR Rights Request". We will respond within 30 days.

8. Security

All data is transmitted over HTTPS/TLS encryption
Payment data is handled exclusively by Stripe (we never store card details)
Parent dashboard access is protected by a PIN lock
User authentication is managed by a secure auth provider with session tokens
Admin access to child data requires authenticated admin-role accounts

9. Cookies

We use essential session cookies only — required for you to stay logged in. We do not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or third-party analytics cookies. No cookie consent banner is required for essential cookies under UK GDPR/PECR.

10. Complaints

If you have concerns about how we handle your data, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO): ico.org.uk or call 0303 123 1113.
