Safeguarding & Child Safety

Our Safeguarding Statement

Next Gen Learning UK is built for children in Years 3–6. Their safety is not a feature of the platform — it is the foundation it is built on. This page sets out exactly how we protect every child who uses it.

No real names, no photos

Children never appear under their real identity. Every child uses a chosen game username (e.g. StarComet42) and a cartoon avatar. Real names, photographs and personal details are never displayed anywhere on the platform, including leaderboards.

No chat, no contact, no strangers

There is no messaging between children, no open chat rooms, and no way for any adult or child to contact a child through the platform. The platform is fully self-service: there is no live tutoring and no adult-to-child interaction of any kind. The parent community forum is for verified parent accounts only.

100% ad-free and tracker-free

We show no advertising of any kind, ever. There are no third-party ad trackers, no in-app purchases aimed at children, and no external links inside the child's learning environment. Rewards are earned through learning only.

Parents are in control

Accounts are created and managed by parents. The parent dashboard is PIN-protected, and parents set daily screen-time limits for the game mode (learning sessions, quizzes and mock exams are never limited). Subscription, billing and data decisions sit with the parent at all times.

Healthy screen time by design

Game-mode play is capped by parent-set daily limits (30, 60 or 120 minutes). The platform is built around short, focused learning sessions rather than endless scrolling, and every minute spent is productive 11+ preparation.

UK GDPR data protection

The account holder is always the parent, and we collect the minimum data needed to run the service. Children's learning progress is stored against their chosen username only. Data is never sold or shared with third parties for marketing. Parents can request full deletion of their family's data at any time, and we are registered with the ICO.

A note for schools and PTAs

Because the platform is used entirely at home, under a parent-managed account, with no adult-to-child interaction, no chat and no advertising, it carries none of the safeguarding obligations of an in-person club or tutoring service. Schools and PTAs that recommend the 11+ Club never handle children's data — families sign up directly with us, and all data responsibilities remain ours. We are happy to answer any safeguarding or data protection questions your governors or DPO may have.
